SACCO

Within the Namuwongo Church LMCC run a SACCO scheme that assists and encourages women form the surrounding areas to develop small businesses which enables them to provide food, clothes and school fees for their children. These women are often disadvantaged with low self esteem; they meet every Friday when they share ideas and encouragement and save/borrow money as appropriate. They also share God’s word and pray together.

These women have been helped to develop their small businesses such as street vending, starting a small shop and learning sewing/dress making skills. This scheme has been very successful enabling them to grow in self worth and  independence.
